This is bad PR for Jones. He was unpopular before today but now the hate is going to reach new levels. I think it was a mistake for him not to take this fight.

Not defending Jones (because I think he's being a prick) but this does justify his decision somewhat. He turned down Sonnen on 8 days notice. Machida is turning him down on 30.

Rogan is clearly on the fighters side with those comments.

This could turn very ugly. Whilst I can see why Dana is furious, he needs to calm down. Events have lost their main event before and the show goes on. Personally I think Dana cancelled this one to make Jones look even worse and turn people against him. And the comments against Jackson may be understandable but it's not a professional way for him to act, even more than his usual unprofessional behaviour!

There will come a day when Dana goes too far and the Fertittas will have to step in again.

I listened to the conf call and although I think Jones should have taken the fight for the sake of the bigger picture I think Dana is trying to brush a major thing under the carpet.

The card was so weak apart from that fight. I can remember not so long ago where there would be fights on the pre lims that I would make a point of getting up for, and after that the main card was stacked even better.

Seems we are moving to the model of one headlining fight and filler underneath. Maybe not as bad as boxing but similar.

Dana can say all he wants about having a plan for the future but like someone said on Twitter if a fight deemed as a co main event can't step up to become the main event if it needs to it shouldn't be called it.
