The Scots are anti-English. How many different football tops and flags have been sold up there in the last few weeks?

As for the rest, all done to death in the long Scottish referendum threads. You can see my posts in there. Do a search, on my name etc.

How do you equate football with being anti-English. You surely don't know much about football if you think we would support our oldest rivals. Can you please convince me that Spurs supporters would support Arsenal in a European final, or Liverpool with ManU. I thought not.

The irony, read those two sentences again. Slowly. I thought we had been allies for hundreds of years.

In 1994 I supported Ireland in the World Cup as England didn't qualify and Ireland was our closest link and neighbour.
? How odd. If it's an English team against a foreign team then as a neutral I tend to favour Liverpool, Man U, or whoever as they are an English team against a foreign one.

It's odd, but I honestly don't feel any ill will to Scotland at all. I make a point of always buying Scottish whisky, never bought Japanese whisky once, and yet Sean Connery portrays himself as wanting Scottish independence while living abroad and did adverts for Japanese whisky. Something that hit the Scottish whisky industry. In Japan Scottish whisky was considered superior. Once a typical Scot promoted Japanese whisky then many thought Japanese whisky must be good enough.

I think all these replies just prove my point. When England are playing, we are not neutral. History shows we are the oldest rivals in football, so I still await Spurs/Arsenal, Liverpool/ManU fans disagreeing with me. Surely the Rangers/Celtic post just proves what I am sayings, that no matter the reasons for the rivalry, one set of supporters will never give their support to the other.
