She has, it is only 12cms longer than the hatchback and on the same wheelbase (with rear parking sensor included BTW). We had heard about them being a bit noisy but it was a lot quieter than what we are used to. She put it down to a saloon boot. Probably rightly so.

You aren't wrong Huge inside though, like a TARDIS

Slight update. We are still waiting to collect our car.

We have paid for it (on the 12th) but we had caught it before it went on the forecourt. Salesman said the paintshop needed to sort out a couple of scuffs and the Mazda Soul Red is a pain to get right. They are Mazda dealers so I'm not too worried.

But it has been over a week now... should I be worried?

We rang them and they said it'll definitely be ready for this Tuesday - Wednesday. They couldn't pick a day so alarm bells are ringing. I'm thinking they have either sold it to someone else or they have pranged it... or it didn't have parking sensors (as promised) so they are adding them.

It is a fair way out, when we went to see it the guy told us it had only come in two days before.

It was on some hardstanding t'other side of the paintshop. We had to walk through the forecourt, through the paintshop to see it.

Really not sure why it is taking so long.

Could be something as simple as waiting on a delivery of paint/ materials etc.
Many years ago I had a 528i need some paint work and I was put off collecting it several days in a row and then I just happened to drive past it parked outside a house ten miles away from the dealer.
Turned out the technician was using it as a loaner.

Well, we picked it up last night. Lovely, but I found some stone chips on the bonnet when we got home. The whole handover was rushed, guy had held back as we couldn't get there until after six. Not to mention my daughter being an absolute bitch while we were in the garage.

Everything is signed now, do I have any chance in hell to go back and get something done about them? I had mentioned something and the guy gave me a touch up set!

It depends I would say. Does it class as fair tear and wear? It is not a new car after all unless I’m mistaken.

The bonnet doesn't look too bad under certain lighting. But there are other times it looks pretty bad.

The salesman did tell me that it would be 'showroom condition' and 'like a brand new car' before we paid for it.

I rang them up and he said I can call in and someone from the paintshop would 'pin in' the chips for me. He also said they wouldn't be respraying the bonnet as they had already spent 800-900 quid on paintwork on it.

I said I didn't care how much they had spent as I only wanted what I was promised.

Apparently it is misrepresentation.

This may help in establishing whether it is fair wear or tear. Any dealer should play by the same rules I’d argue.
