Peugeot 308 whining noise after stopping (audio now attached)

Haven't had a chance to get back in with it yet due to a busy work schedule. Hopefully going in next week so they can have a closer look at the EGR valve.

In Halfords last week, buying a new bike for the eldest.
Bought a tin of Wynns EGR cleaner out of curiosity, it was only a tenner.
Very easy to use, just undo an intake pipe enough to get the can's nozzle in, leave the car idling and spray it in (follow the instructions, short bursts, took about 20 mins to empty the tin).
To my surprise, the car is running a good bit better.
Quieter and smoother.

I'm off to India in a week so it won't be until I return that I get the motor in to get checked, but I'll bear that stuff in mind for future reference.

Aside from that it's running great. Getting about 54 Mpg too.

Finally had the EGR valve cleaned, greatly reduced the noise.

For 2 days, then it's back to the usual. Going to push for a replacement next.

Just heard your dropbox sound and my peugeot 2008 15 plate is making the exact sound. Did you ever find out what the problem was?

I don't honestly remember. I changed the car in June 2015!

Now I don't even have an engine so lots less noise, lol.
