Get one mate! I've had mine just over a year now and absolutely love it!

Handling is just ridiculous on the thing you really can just push it on a country road and it laps it up.

Quite cheap to tune if thats your thing as well. Mines currently running 240bhp (weighs 1150kg) and in a few months will look at fitting a different turbo which will take it to around 300/320bhp or more power to weight than an RS3/M2/Golf R.

Granted I'd take any of the above all day long over an ST but when you consider the cost its a pretty serious piece of kit!!

The 1.6 ecoboost in the is pretty bullet proof as well, plenty of people running 300bhp   and doing track days with them and no issues at all.

I don't really hammer mine and get 38/40mpg. I certainly won't be swapping for a bit - the new (ugly) ST is £24k for an st3 and the only other little car I fancy is an S1 but thats nearing £30k for the spec I want and rumours have it the new one will be 5 door only!!!

Oh hell I wouldn't be seen dead in one of them. Hahaha no harm to anyone who has them, just not my cup of tea.

I'm actually looking at a fiesta st now tbh.
The Mrs loves the Kuga and doesn't want to get rid but for me, if I'm going to be getting 38 mpg from a diesel, I'd rather get it from a sporty hatchback I can have some fun driving.

My head is honestly pickled just now. I might leave it till I come back my holidays towards end of July and see how I'm feeling
It's sorely tempting me.the seats concern me. Being of the ahem rotund nature I fear the seats may be unsuitable. Not that I would let that stop me haha

so quick update...........there is no update really

took the Kuga down to the lake district on holiday so decided to hang fire on the trade in.
Then a spring went on driver side, so that was £140 to fix

Now there is a weird knocking coming form the Rear of the Kuga (least I think its the rear) and is particularly noisy when going over spped bumps.
Ive stopped the car and bounced the suspension and can't hear anything...its weird.
Anyway the mrs wants to fix and I'm trying to use it as an excuse to trade it in.
My limit I can spend is 10k, so its kind of ruling me out of an ST (unless its like 5 years old)
That price range does sit around the 16 plate ST-Line Ecoboost option, so I think maybe my best option is to try and get the 140 version of that

Hopefully I can get out this weekend for a test drive of one

One thing I would just say is that if the 140 version isn't much extra then go for that but otherwise the 125 is plenty quick enough. For such a small engine it's great.
I had a 2014 zetec s ecoboost 125 for about 4 years and it never skipped a beat. Great little cars. Last week i picked up a 65 plate fiesta ST3 as always wanted one.

Haven't looked properly at the ST Line but the Fiesta 1ltre Ecoboost's are just superb imo. Great little cars. Nippy, cheap to run and insure and most important fun to drive

TBH depending where I am looking both the 125 and the 140 are relatively the same (Maybe £500 dearer for a 140)
I've been looking around the web for a few weeks, including in here and I've really not seen mush in the way of any bad stories for the wee 1.0l Ecoboost engine. Everyone saying how nippy it is and cheap to run
My heart craves an ST, but maybe I just have to bide my time for now until finances dictate an upgrade, and be satisified with one that kinda looks like an ST but isn't a magnet for naughty car thieves

Pros and cons for both isn't there. I'd test drive both if can find one in budget.

Quick update - Vehicle purchased on Saturday

Took a black 1l Ecoboost (unsure if 125 or 140 at the garage) for a test drive
Considering it's a 1l I was well impressed with how nippy it was, so took the plunge and bought it there ant then.

66 Plate with 10k miles on it.

Should get it this week, just waiting on my V5 coming thru for the Kuga as I've taken my prvate plate off

Yeah ST Line.
For my budget I couldn't find a good year ST with low mileage.
Perhaps next upgrade will be an ST
