Feist is doing a tour in May and its in Manchester on my birthday but I have work lined up for that day already but hopefully I will be able to escape for a while.

David used to his at Waterstones on Deansgate in Manchester so I will call in this week and see if any are planned for  Stella.

Have you seen this lot :

David Gemmell Hardback Collection | eBay

Not sure if it takes the **** or is good value for money once you work it out.

What I don't get it why at the bottom he rates Waylander at £2,000 !!!!

Seen he's taking the **** at best he has around £500 if that possibly a little more maybe a little less I don't think anyone that's just started collecting would shell out all that and anyone that's already collecting won't want half of those so IMO he won't shift em unless he splits

Thats true, i would only want some it it but i'd value it a bit more as those omnibus version seem to go for about £200 each which I think is well over priced as there just re-prints really but others seem to think differently.

Also the legend graphic novel signed can go for 100 to 200 as well.

What about the other things he mentions ..

xxxx EXTREMELY RARE PROOF COPY OF THE LEGEND OF DEATHWALKER xxxx

Pictures of condition are available upon request but as so many books i will gladly send individual photographs to interested parties.  the BONUS material is only available to the lucky person who "BUY IT NOW".  Legend, King beyond the Gate, Waylander will cost you £300, £250, £2000 to complete the set and if your extremely lucky you will come across a Ghost King original...good luck with that.

I paid £185 and &95 for perfect signed copies of Drenai tales Vol 1 and 2 which I may have paid a little more for.

Vol 3 has a limited number run which I got at launch but is around £100 as well.

So the three Drenai vols if hardback and signed in perfect condition are worth a good £400 in total.

I think prices went silly after he sadly died and people took advantage of it imo.  I don't mind paying good money for older stuff upto 100 a book but the new reprints and his last few books were easy to get before his passing and then shot upto the ones I saw at about £200 for ages, like this one :

David Gemmell. DRENAI TALES 3 - signed limited edition | eBay

I would have a complete collection of firsts some day and as many signed but not that fussed as I always like to meet the person and get the signing myself.

his other bonus stuff inc this :

THIS COLLECTION HAS TAKEN ME 15 YEARS TO COLLATE AND AS SUCH I HAVE GOT THE FOLLOWING TREASURES TO ADD TO THE PERSON WHO HITS THE "BUY IT NOW" BUTTON:-

LEGEND 1ST EDITION PAPERBACK NEAR FINE

WAYLANDER 1ST EDITION PAPERBACK NEAR FINE

xxxx EXTREMELY RARE PROOF COPY OF THE LEGEND OF DEATHWALKER xxxx

Pictures of condition are available upon request but as so many books i will gladly send individual photographs to interested parties.  the BONUS material is only available to the lucky person who "BUY IT NOW".  Legend, King beyond the Gate, Waylander will cost you £300, £250, £2000 to complete the set and if your extremely lucky you will come across a Ghost King original...good luck with that.  For all fans of Davids work you will know the true value in buying this collection.  This set is worth at least £1500-00 to a collector without the BONUS material.  I will let the collection go as a "BUY IT NOW" go for £1200.00.

He lists Legend, KBTG and Waylander in the pricing bit but misses out KBTG in the listing, maybe an error but aren't his prices way out for those in paperback. I've got a few white cover legends for far less and weren't the other 2 first released in HB anyway?

I think I will aim to complete some Gemmell sets this year once work picks up, i like the artwork for the recent paperback drenai collections and think they would look good framed so will get them. I also like some of the recent foreign covers so thinking about starting to collect those in lieu of new gemmell releases.
