Also probably attended the HoL to collect the £300/day tax-free "attendance allowance" for doing fudge all (and probably getting there on a Freedom Pass)

87 year old dies suddenly. Who would have thought, how could anyone guess or predict. We can't have some sort of trial because the accused is far too important and becomes ill.
Who is this Jenner, the real "Corrado Sorprano", bad joke. Indeed, Steve W, I find your stand incredulous!

Who is right, the stench of establishment cover up, that's who.

Let's see.

A court decides a man is too ill to stand trial.

A few months later he dies.

I note this.

You're incredulous that I think this is evidence that the court was right.

Merry Christmas.

Steve W

Yes, I'm unequivocal in my view.

And Happy New Year.

also, Max Clifford took out a new mortgage on his house, protecting that asset from comp claims
- and, iirc, he now also receives rental income off it, whilst we're paying for his current accommodations

No the DDP decided it wasn't in the public interest to pursue Janner over the abuse allegations. That led to an outcry from his alleged victims and the public. Which then lead to the DDP reversing her decision and handing it to the courts to decide on the question of Janner being fit to stand trial or if a trial of the facts was required. See I'd have been quite happy had this gone straight to the courts in the first place to decide if Janner was fit to stand trial. In hindsight they might have had a trial of the facts a while ago.

There is also the issue of Janner not facing a proper Police investigation back in the 1990's. Not too dissimilar to Cyril Smith and probably other Politicians from various Political parties we don't yet know about who got away with abuse over decades. I think people have to face upto the possibility that our Political system is so corrupt that they will hush up child abuse for Political advantage and ultimately control of the levers of power.

Wouldn't surprise me if other abusers who've not yet come to light have made similar changes just in case they are investigated and face the possibility of being found guilty. It's all about power and control with abusers over the victims. Denying them compensation is just another means of control.

There will of course be people who make false claims if they see a pay day out of it, but they will be a small minority. 2016 should be an interesting year for Westminster.
