Perhaps if there was a real written constitution the brexit disaster would have been contained. Read this;
Brexit Is Destroying Britain's Constitution

Sounds like another Remain whinge by someone who cant accept they lost.

Sounds wonderful this cry for 'compromise' - but I just wonder what the compromise would have been if Remain had won the referendum - I suspect it would have gone something like this..

It would have been more likely a sigh of relief.
No, the exit result is the best for everyone, and it's consequences will be entirely positive, that's why the parliament is so united in its implementation. The job losses in Nissan, Airbus, Honda, plus a million more in banking,  insurance and elsewhere, will be  well worth itjust to stick a few fingers in the air to your fellow UK citizens, (Europeans don't give a monkey's). A lifetime of hard bargaining by some of the toughest leaders the uk has had, including the stauchest eurosceptic MrsThatcher herself, all their crafted and proven gains undone to be replaced by, " alternative arrangements", and a few pounds of cheap Brazilian beef.

I would love to know what's really being said about the UK behind the scenes. When the microphone's are off, and the camera's are gone. There must be zero respect for May now, and our Parliament as a whole.

If people in this country have no respect for Parliament anymore, Christ knows what the rest of the world must think. A laughing stock probably doesn't even come close.

While I'd love the UK's constitution to be codified I doubt it ever will be, unless events force it to happen. People don't seem to fully appreciate the Constitution, the Queen's role as it's arbiter when politics fails, her residual powers and how it governs us all even if we don't notice it on a daily basis.

Brexit could break the constitution, but time well tell on that one. Though I suspect we'd hear the phrase "Grave Constitutional Crisis" being uttered by the Queen as she takes control of the situation. Which is what the Palace will want to avoid at all costs.

As for the IG if it gets enough MP's it would probably hold the balance of power in the commons given it's a hung parliament. Corbyn going on the attack might be a grave error of judgement in the end. Though it seems John McDonnell has at least sensed the possible dangers of going on the attack.

I cant see the IG going anywhere - they are united in what the dont want (Brexit) but totally divided over what they do want.

If you just wanted to be an anti Brexit pressure group you may as well join the LibDems.

I don't think it's wide of the mark to suggest the IG have an eye on playing the Lib Dem role should there not be a majority at the next election. Which looks at the moment like a strong possibility!!

They are a small handful of independent MPs not a party. They'd each need to get elected. For some their constituencies are for leave. For others the vote will be split between them, Labour and the Lib Dems.
