It seems a popular card for both sides to play...

Centuries of Jew hatred, driven by the church and other religious institutions, belief that Jews, a minority control the world.

For some illogical reason certain people, fear, hate and envy Jews.

Pogroms in Europe and the Middle East, the Spanish Inquisition, expulsion from certain countries, laws even today that prohibit Jews from buying property/land in certain countries, the Holocaust and a hundred other examples.

Fortunately the dynamics have changed and Jews are able to protect themselves.

That said, imo, the number of Jews in Europe/UK will continue to reduce....

The far right certainly use it as they have a hierarchy of hate. They've hilariously sprung to the defence of LGBT rights and Judaism in their hate against the 'other' they can popularly attack.

Could be, or could not be. Should not affect standing against anti-semitism though. There is nothing wrong with being critical about Israel’s regime, unfortunately too many can’t do that without being anti-Semitic.

More often than not, anything critical of Israel’s regime is called out as being "anti-semitic" [even when its not]. The Israel’s regime is a Taboo topic.

But that is part of the problem, as IronGiant has so succinctly put, two sides can play that game. Just don't be anti-Semitic and it will be ok.

It is no different than saying I am not racist but ....The law is quite clear on how to treat situations like that.

Labour is responsible for rise of 'softcore Holocaust denial', Dr Deborah Lipstadt says

You were saying? A classic hallmark of the normalisation that is happening.

Its quite obvious that Jew hatred has nothing to do with Israel, Israel is just the current excuse.

In all honesty I don't like talking about this topic especially on internet forums where "things are lost in translation".
I have some Jewish friends (from Norf Landon) where we have discussed this topic at length after many drinks over dinner and it is far from a straightforward topic.  America's involvement doesn't help the situation either so I have been told.
