Hmm and you think that questioning the definition of anti semitism isn’t anti Semitic? That is exactly the problem as to why it is on the rise.

And another great example of down playing it...

As a genuine question, is somebody suggesting that Israel's use of force against unarmed Palestinians is anti-Semitic or anti-Israel?

I think there have always been nasty, angry people who will look to blame anyone else but themselves.  Unfortunately, more media attention for formerly fringe groups like Britain First (EDL) has encouraged those people to be more vocal in their feelings that were previously kept more 'underground' within their own peer groups.

Could well be ...problem with hate crime figures are there doesn't seem an easy way to distinguish between what crimes happen because of someones difference/beliefs or in spite of it..

You could argue that your post is an example of, "playing the anti-Semitic card" too though.  @rancidpunk was merely showing examples where people questioning the Israeli state (not the Jewish religion) are stopped by being called anti-Semitic.

Nope, it's putting it into context that there is a rise in anti foreigners and hate in general.

No one is downplaying hate. Well apart from people like Farage, but no one picks them up about it.

Exactly. criticism of the Israeli state has now become accepted as being anti-semitic. There's a comparison to be made of those who wish to shutdown criticism of the State, unfortunately that also now fits the description of being anti-semitic.

The thread title has asked a question: why is there an increase worldwide in antisemitism? What is the cause?

I've checked on various media websites but all they are saying is it's on the increase, but not giving any reasons why.

Naughty boy - you mustn't question well established views, it leads to getting shot down in flames.
