That's negotiable, but I take your point

It’s not necessarily for myself, I’m too old to go back to school. I was more thinking about all those living outside the U.K. reaping the benefits but not actually contributing. Just like what happens with elections.

How does that work?

If I buy a New Build House, why should I pay Inheritance Tax on it?

Tax man is not going to abolish the Stamp Duty too much loss when they are looking to raise the taxes everywhere.

Having removed it only for FTB will not help either; as this doesn't give any incentive to existing owner to move.

Having replace the Stamp Duty with Inheritance Tax for new purchase (doesn't mean new builds) can achieve the required result.

Just a thought.

No, I'm speaking, as I always do, not again, for myself.
Nor would I - leave it to the court of opinion, such as rustybin's in #10.

He also wants to impose personal taste on others.

I don't like tats either, but it is childish to suggest they should be taxed.

This is supposed to be a sensible Budget discussion.  If you want to rant about tatoos, any one, go to GC.

Not in my opinion IG.

If a young person wished to attend higher education then a passport is required. It shows proof the young person is a British Citizen.

Not a good idea because full-time young university students do not pay any taxes. No income = no taxes.
