Or watch in horror as Saint Jezza lucks out and changes the Political consensus for the next 30 or 40 years. Be careful what you wish for in politics, it's almost never what you'd like or expect to happen.

Also the comments about the young not knowing what they are voting for, thus ignoring them is precisely the reason why the Tories support amongst the young is virtually non existent. Ignore them, ridicule them if you want to. Just don't be surprised if they vote for something you fear/dislike.

Oh, I’m sure the young knew exactly what they were voting for, free unicorns for everyone.

Being promised it in exchange for your vote and actually getting and finding out there’s no such thing as a free lunch after all is something entirely different.

No, I think that's underestimating young people's intelligence. They know precisely where the money has flowed and it's not been to them. Pension age benefits ? That's truly the stuff of Free Unicorns. It's all based around borrowing and making young people work harder and longer, then tax them more and then when they hit retirement age there will be nothing in the Treasuries coffers for them. That's where the anger is coming from. The Tories have offered older voters free unicorns in exchange for their votes. Yet as soon as the young do it ? The sky is falling in apparently.

Hmm. Which party tried to sort out residential care funding?

And dropped the triple lock?

And promised to means test some pensioner benefits?

Not many free unicorns there.

I have serious reservations about Corbyn's CV.  Would he be given the job to run any big organisation? Running a country is more than just standing on a soap box repeating the same old socialist workers war cries.

So the near 40 years of national insurance payments I’ve been making haven’t got to pay the pensions of the previous generation then? Same as the generation after me will be paying towards mine. So if the youngsters don’t like that, who do they think will be paying their pensions when the time comes?

Yeah, I was actually responding to Enki, quoting him would probably have been helpful, wouldn’t it

Probably not, most of what he posts is complete nonsense. He blames it on fat fingers and being distracted, I'm getting to the point of saying "if you can't be bothered, I can exclude you"

Like the "Toodle pip,  I won't be posting again" message he conveniently forgot he sent me...

which would be a shame because when he is occasionally coherent his posts are interesting, and I've even agreed with him over some issues.
