Do you eat out of date food?

I knew there was a reason we usually empty the tins out. At least if the tuna has gone bad and the wife gets the sh*ts, I can tell her its tin poisoning instead

Timely about tins, but thought it was well known (at least I knew!).
And you can't see the date it was put in, so that's a bonus.

I helped a good friend clear out the Alcohol cupboard in their house. Most of the bottles had no dates visible so I had a little taste of most of them...except the ones that had actually changed the colour of the bottle..
Apparently one bottle of something funky was about 30 years old

Well I was bad for about 2 days

I didn't know that, so how come places such as Approved Foods can sell stuff that is miles out of date? I've bought a fair bit of stuff from them (creme eggs @ 10p each, remember that being on here from a year or two ago!) and most of it is past sell by date.

Not sure, Rob, maybe there is a get out clause that isn't available to a standard supermarket?

It doesn't matter up North, but down South it is nearer Westminster and they have to be seen to be caring.
