i think the specification for Blu-Ray 3D is that every product (aside from promo discs) has to be playable on both 3D and 2D equipment. This is done in one of three ways.

1) The distributor includes both a 3D disc and a 2D disc, like Disney do.

2) The distributor includes a 3D and 2D encode on the same disc, which can lead to a poor bitrate

3) The distributor releases 3D only but with a flag to play only the left or right eye frame on 2D equipment, which can lead to poor 2D image quality as the image has been altered for 3D

my two have dispatched today megamind and  htty-dragon, also traded some stuff at cex and picked up toy story 3d for £12 which i though was good, and i have beauty and the beast 3d on the way for free redeemed from the disney rewards.

i have john carter 3d and titanic 3d on order so my collection is coming along, except i cant bloody watch any

although im saving for a 55" VT50 or a samsung es8000 dependant on demos and im half way there with £1200 quid saved.

despicable me has gone up slightly and seems the best deal at the mo, and its a good movie, not sure what the 3d will look like though...

Its brilliant, the one I use to show anyone who is interested how good 3d can look. End credits are a 3d demo in themselves. Good film too.

It did go down slightly to £7.20, for a day or so,  which is when I bought my copy, but £7.97 is still a damn good price.

what i have noticed about amazon and correct me if im wrong..amazon dont do cashback via quidco/topcashback...what they do seem to do though..on pre-orders they do have some decent savings to be had...so its always worth paying them a visit on pre-releases as they will honour the prices...

i recently pre-ordered john carter 3D @ £16 at amazon, when everywhere else had (even the pre-order @ 21.99/22.99 , so that is a significant saving (probably even better than the best cashback offers) some places even had it @ £24.99 (the hut group)...

i wish someone would get a grip, no wonder 3D hasnt caught on, with sky high prices, they need to bring the 3D blurays down to a reasonable price level if they want it to take off and not treat as an expensive gimmick, but that discussion is for another thread...

Sainsbury's Entertainment have got some really good titles listed in their '2 3D blu rays for £30' offer. I think it's worth a look.

thanks for that  link added below

Sainsburys 2 for £30 - 3D Blurays

just be careful with your combination as despicable me is listed as £19.99, when it can be had as we know for 7.97 elsewhere...although if you picked how to train you dragon and megamind that is a good deal, also im sure you can use nectar points /and or cashback options with sainsburys
