Gotta say...Sicario looks incredible without HDR on the X. Best Ive seen so far I think. The blu was reference but this is even better.

As per usual, borders are so black I cant see the thin bezel.

Does anyone know about any rumors that are in the talks of the X being updated with Dolby Vision support to support the Atmos it has.

No it hasn't - it was in a relatively recent software update that it went wrong

I have had the s for a year. have dark hdr on Netflix. xbox says it's not a fault with them
maybe a new launch and a lot of bad publicity, might finally get them to address the problem

No it has not, I’ve had an S for about a year now and it was only relatively recently that HDR issue occurred. It was introduced in a software update a couple of months ago.

MS have even acknowledged it’s a software issue and that a fix is forthcoming.

100% a recent thing they buggered up with their latest software update.

OLED 65C6V had perfect black bars when playing Blade Runner UHD a couple of weeks ago and when I sat down the other night to watch Life UHD, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the awful mess that started playing.

The Sony logo screen which is usually just a White Sony logo on a perfect Black background was a very light uneven Grey and when the film started, the bars at the top and bottom were very light Grey too.  The rest of the picture looked terrible too.

As mentioned above, the issue has been fixed in the latest beta.  I signed up to the Insider program that night to get the beta as it's the only thing I use the Xbox for and can confirm it did fix the problem for me.

If you want to try it, download the Xbox Insider Hub app and apply to join.  I was accepted within 30 minutes.

The update left beta and was released to everyone yesterday evening. It fixes the problems with elevated blacks on UHD disks.

Compared to Apple TV 4K HDR , I’m still finding the “fixed” Xbox’s UHD  black level a tad high, specifically the black bars.

It’s as if on Apple TV , the bars are blacker than black , but on the Xbox , they are just black.
