Why do none of the phone reviews on an Audio Visual Forum mention the quality of the headphone output?  I appreciate this is becoming more and more moot with Bluetooth headphones, but it has always been a big consideration for someone who appreciates good sound quality. For years, I bought HTC phones with this at the forefront of my decision.

I see no reason to upgrade from my S8  then again I think its pretty pointless bang for buck upgrading your phone more than every 3 years or so and S6 or S7 are still very good phones and probably do all you really need....

The biggest problems with smartphones is limited battery life and how fragile they're if dropped resulting cracked screen, common sight on tube/train/buses where people are using their phone.

None of these are addressed year on year but Samsung and Apple are happy add crap and useless features like; Emojis, slow mow and other nonsense. I have S4 bought two years ago and just replaced the original battery as it was getting slow. No need to get the latest as they all the do the same thing, just a fraction faster.

Yeah the whole fragile thing is staggeringly bad. My S3 has taken a right pasting over the years yet the screen remains crack free.

Is it just me that has absolutely no issues at all with the fingerprint scanner position on the S8? I keep on seeing reviewers complaining about it but it feels as natural as anything to unlock my phone using it. I never miss it, I never hit the camera lens it just works.

I wonder sometimes if these reviewers (present company excepted) have actually tested and practiced unlocking the phone with it for more than a few days (or even a few minutes). It's perhaps not "natural" at first as you can't see it but when I hold my phone in my hand now my finger naturally falls right on the sensor. Perhaps I'm just weird though.

Try being left handed, not only is it in an unnatural place for me as it is on the wrong side of the camera lens, but if and when I do use it I have to use my waste of a space right hand

There's been a very promising breakthrough in supercapacitors recently which could be a game-changer for automotive and hand held devices.
