So found out that the Toshiba's TPA-1 is basically just a rebranded X-Rite i1D3:
AVS Forum - View Single Post - Toshiba 2011 Line up

Might work as a regular colorimeter in CalMAN or ChromaPure or HCFR. Latter is open-source, but might be still buggy for the i1D3:

Can anyone test?

Yes that's right.  The device does say X-Rite on it so this is is no secret.  The powerful part is the auto calibration.

Funny how the review talks about how GOOD the reds are and is even listed as one of the set's 'Pro' features.  I am telling you guys.  Red is absolutely no problem for this set.  Toshiba may have done something to address this with firmware but I have never noticed it to be a problem in the first place.

So can you measure your colors with the TPA-1 in HCFR?
You still said auto-calibration only tested with the primary colors, getting accurate colors from that alone seems unlikely.

That review isn't very helpful as there's no calibration report.

Speaking of updates i think the first one from March is now available via auto-update. The second one still only very manual download.

Can the Toshiba be compared and hold its own against the better LCD's out there? And those other LCDs probably costing alot more of course.
