Edit: I mixed up the pictures, this was actually a Samsung TV not an Insignia.

That's a 4 color UV2A panel from Sharp.  I believe the 60" Samsung 6100 i posted was also a UV2A from Sharp, but only 3 colors.

S-PVA panel from Samsung. You can compare with the European model:

Sharp X-GEN, UV2A 3-color panel.

It is a MVA panel. Most likely, S-MVA. IF not, then A-MVA with PSA. In order to be sure, the panel code, which declares the manufacturer is on a sticker at the back side of the panel. (OEM cases are excluded). Example:

It is definitely an AUO panel w/PSA. Here is the relevant site of AUO:

You are absolutely right.

I have a 40R1AF6E panel and a 40A1AF6E panel in two samsung 40ES6300 TVs.
From what I've read the A panel is the samsung and the R one must be from AUO.

Do you have any more information on that AUO panel? What technology is used and is it better or worse then the samsung technical? My personal impression is that the AUO has better viewing angles and much more consistent backlight, while it's much worse in 3D and the colors seem a little less brilliant.

Do you know what panels and processors are in these Toshibas - and are they decent TVs?

Toshiba 46L5200U
Toshiba 47L6200U

This is in Canada. They're the only TVs that advertise response times (8ms) that I can remember.

Thanks!
