First of all I am Norwegian, and as a Norwegian we are thought to love Norwegian movies no matter what! however this was a disappointment.
The movie lacks substance, you never really get to know the characters. One after another they are briefly introduced but you never get under the skin of any of them.
You are also served the odd flashback from Heyerdahls life some which serves no purpose for the main story line whatsoever.
The acting is fine an the lead is particularly good but the script is lacking. There's never any real drama between the crew (which there wasn't in real life either) however the directors/scriptwriters have tried to spice the story up but this falls short of my expectation of REAL drama.
The story all in all was spiced (i.e. differs from the real story) up in particularly with sharks. In the real drama scene relating to the sharks i found myself going "yeah right"... and for a dramatic scene that's not a good thing!
All in all an okay movie but not worth the 100mil NOK it took to make it. I don't expect this will do well overseas but who knows.
