This is a deep and heartfelt story, that actually changed a portion of geographic science forever. The flashbacks that Heyerdahls experiences, IS substance, but if you don't get...well you just don't! A great movie - a must see!! Let nobody tell you otherwise, before you go see it for yourself - PS! This is not a sci-fi, rock and roll, Hollywood $ big greasy soup (those can of course be great), this is pure life!!! It's up there amongst Cast Away, only Kon-Tiki is based on true events. Yes, it's Norwegian, yes the budget is just about 16-17 mill $, but what you get in return, is a whole lot more than many other "big" movies gives you in return!!!
