The KVM market is fairly niche these days, most of the reasons why you'd have an old, slow secondary computer have more popular solutions these days - such as remote desktop, software KVM or a virtual machine.

If it's video connections that are the stumbling block then it's worth pointing out that DVI and HDMI share the same video protocol so a passive adaptor will generally do the job - if you don't need any of HDMI's extra features like audio. DP Dual mode will also output DVI.

VGA is more of a pain and if your particular GT 630 only has one digital output then I'd consider replacing it.

Not sure what any of that meant! lol

I just want to use BOTH computers and be able to switch between them!

The old machine is good enough for browsing.

The new high end machine is for video editing.

But each machine will be used within the capability of the respective machine.

Logitech Wireless keyboard and mouse with USB "unifying" receiver. Buy an extra unifying receiver (about a tenner) and plug one into each computer. The same KB/Mouse will work both computers. Obviously you will have to turn one of the PC's off!

Thanks John but there are better solutions whereby you don't have to turn one of the computers off. Cheers.
