I've popped my Oculus DK2 on eBay; fed up with the way the SDK doesn't feel as solid as it should at this point   the Windows 10 oversight is a bit daft.

I'm still undecided between the Vive and the CV1, especially for Elite which is really hard to play without VR once you've had it

Has anyone here used both recently?

How do you manage when you need to type things on the keyboard?

I've been using keyboards for about 33 years.  Instinct.

I have the flight sticks either side of me on the desk and the keyboard is in the middle.  It's mostly plain sailing (as long as you can read text - there's a hack for that on Elite) - if you mistype, you just delete and try again.

It usually gets tricky if you press F1 instead of Escape or if you have a cat who is a jerk.
(If I had a headset with a mic I'd be half tempted with some of the voice controls Elite has to go with it...)

I've managed mostly without a keyboard. I've VoiceAttack and the phonetic alphabet programmed in, some standard phrases for chat, and I'm mostly sorted.

Hopefully in SteamVR the funky gamepad keyboard will be included.

I like the idea of a video overlay with a small side-mounted webcam that I can maybe fade in with a key... Hmmm.

Given i cant use mine at the moment anyway due to a trapped nerve it may be time to let her go.  have had so much more than my monies worth however... mostly due to elite (which is why i have a trapped nerve)

Accurate voice capture has to be the replacement for a keyboard, as least in my mind.  I don't want to be slowly scrolling over a virtual keyboard.  If it's slower than a normal keyboard then I wouldn't take to it.
