I have been looking at this tablet to replace my Tab S 10.5 and really like the look of it but after owning my current tablet to a few years I have realised Samsung has terrible a terrible record when it comes to supporting devices for software updates and if I'm spending a similar amount of money as an IPad Pro I would like a similar level of software support.

Samsung usually support their new tablets for 2 years with updates, going by recent example.
I upgraded my 6 month old S3 for one of these and am absolutely loving it. Being back to the same 16 : 10 aspect ratio of my original Tab S 10.5 made all the difference and having a slot for the S pen on the case means I now make more use of it. Expensive but worth it imho.

Well, i bit the bullet - upgraded the old Note 10.1 for the Tab S4.

With 10% discount through work, the current offer of £100 cashback off tipped me over the edge. Half price keyboard case too. Saved £125, plus the cash back, total price £492.

Very impressed - the S pen is in another league from the Note 10.1.

I recently bought the Tab S3 as I was not overly impressed with the S4 reviews or for that matter the price.
Biggest gripe is the S3 comes with a pen but nowhere to put on the tablet itself so left in box.

New Tab S5e coming soon but not much of an upgrade to the S4 and no dedicated headphone port so no thanks.

I've got my eye on it, same screen, weaker processor and lower price so maybe a better option for me as I don't need the pen and coming from a tab a 10.1 2016 it will still be a big upgrade.

Be interesting if they release an S5 model

No headphone port?!  I don't really agree with them being removed on phones but it's ridiculous they're being removed on 10in tablets, I thought Samsung were avoiding this trend.  At least it makes me feel better about going with an S3.
