They said the new Apple watches would be scratch resistant yet people are still finding their wearables are getting scratched. All this crap on their wonderful adverts showing how they have created a new element blah blah

I'm actually having second thoughts spending £600 on something that's easily going to get scratched (as its SO highly polished), I'm thinking of going back to the space grey sport and pick up a leather or 3rd party bracelet

Yes I have ordered the black as well. Telling me June delivery.

I really like the regular too, in fact I love it. Really hoping these scratches polish out. There are no other marks on the watch body at all or any other parts come to that. It is only the buckle with this problem at the moment and thankfully this part is out of view most of the time.

I totally agree Lee and this is why I am so disappointed. I accept its stainless steel so really should come to expect this. But as you say the way apple marketed this I wasn't expecting it to scratch this quickly. Maybe I was just unlucky and caught it on something. Let's see what happens in the next few days.

I'm waiting for the black link bracelet too. I have slight concerns about scuffing and scratching and I'll definitely report back if scratching happens. Still checking my damn order status a few times a day even though I'm currently wearing a sport with the Milanese loop that I've nicked off my partner. The white band just doesn't do it for me.

I've gone for the black too and if it gets scratched (which I know it will), then so be it. As @iNspectorgadJet has said above it's one of those things that happens and regardless of how careful you are, even the most innocuous scrape could cause marking.

Having said that though, it was a bit presumptuous of Apple to suggest that their straps were more durable and scratch resistant than any other. Even if they had left that out of the sales bumph, they'd still have shifted a bucket load of watches but without the possibility of any potential comebacks.

Unfortunately The bracelet is linished (brushed) and therefore will show small scratches very easily. Linishing is a secondary process, where the strap is basically scratched on a huge belt sander!

If it was a polished strap, like the case, it wouldn't show the scratches so obviously.

Mark, don't use polish on the brushed finish.  I will buff up to a mirror finish, and you will have difficulty removing it.
