Smugmug acquires Flickr

The service may as well not exist as I've never heard anything about it in terms of feedback from others.  I'm interested in the service as I'm toying with the idea of getting a Fire HD 10 and the stand to replace my Mum's digital photo frame which she never uses.  The prime photos would be much easier to transfer photos to and can even be organised by album plus although not that it's needed, the tablet could still be used separately unlike the Show devices.

I pulled the trigger on pro membership this morning. Bastards charged me full price...

The website offered 30% discount and I had a discount code ready to input if need be. The first page that requested my payment details went from that to my flickr photostream showing my new pro status after hitting the continue button. No option to review my payment options.

Did an online email to them had a standard response "we will look into it" nowt since nearly four hours later.

The code entry box is on that sales screen but could be more obvious. It’s particularly insulting that I followed a link from their nag email but had to hunt for the code - it could have and arguably should have been automatic.
Hope they do the right thing by you.

What's happened with Yahoo ?

Now i just downloaded all my photos and store on computers and a backup disk.
Looks like only the Instgram is the final choice

Waiting for Smug to settle down and see which way the wind blows and whether to get back in. I have a comprehensive backup and no one should rely on one method unless they are none to worried about losing them.

Edit. Not bothering with Amazon myself.
