Well you can lose your money quicker gambling lol.

Every casino will load you with free drink, even if your playing the quarters slots. If you don't want to gamble much but drink, they are the one's. Problem is the waitresses won't tour that area very often as they assume they will get no tips. If you're at say a $50 min bet blackjack table, you won't have finished your drink by the time they are back asking again. Note they don't like you hoarding free drinks lol.

The Casino Sandwich, when you go to check in, you will need to supply ID and a credit card, you slip $20 minimum between them, I normally do $50 and ask very nicely if they have any complimentary upgrades, night club tickets, meals etc. If you get none, they will normally give you the cash back. I got a corner suite upgrade and some tickets to the HRH shows.Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Enjoy it mate, I'll be back there in the summer for another round of debauchery.

Must have changed since I last went three years ago. I paid about $35 and got unlimited rides, only went on once though as that was enough for me.

I did this at the Mirage and got a free upgrade from a standard room to a suite which was the size of some peoples houses - also the girl wouldn't take my money and gave it back.

Penn and Teller show is good although get something to eat before / after you go there the Rio  casino / hotel they are in is absolutely rank, I ordered a drink and meal there from one of the 'restaurants' but walked out without paying when they served me, disgusting,

here's a question - how much does it cost to go see the grand canyon?

bare with me a minute here.

we were going to go by chopper, but due to budgetary constraints, we decided it would be better to get a coach there. rumour has it it is a 12 hour journey there and the same back. which we are fine with as it will help keep costs down.
costs seem to be about $75-100 per person to get a coach there. this includes travel and then a bit of time at the canyon.

i just had a thought though of hiring a car whilst out there. we can hire a 7 seater for 2 days for only £80 - so split between 6 of us that is less than £15 each. but then add in fuel costs. 250ish miles - no idea what that would cost each way in diesel? say £60 in fuel each way.

so £120 in fuel there and back and £80 for the car - £200 all in. thats £30 each, and is half the time than on a coach.

however - do you actually have to pay to get in and see the canyon? is there a big barrier that you have to go through etc? or can we just drive there, ditch the car, get out and have a walk about and take some photos?

We drove from GC to Vegas last year, took us 4.5 hours, we only had a quick pit stop for fuel.

The entry to GC National Park is $25 (or was last year!) per car.

Then you are free to drive the rim, pull over take a million photos etc

What is worth mentioning is that the choppers from Vegas don't actually go to the National Park, only the Indian reservations further west. IMO, it's a no contest as to which is better- the views at the South Rim, in the National Park are unbelievable.

If you have a mental image of what the Grand Canyon is, the National Park is the only way to go. Worth the drive I would say, although a helicopter is awesome of course.

i didn't know that about the choppers - but what is the Indian reservations? that is not familiar to me.

i would have thought a chopper would give you better photo opportunities?
how much did it cost you in fuel to drive there?

much appreciated.
