I forgot about Barry Eisler 'John Rain' books too.
Japanese-American assassin, his hand-to-hand martial arts scenes are good.

Brilliant, that is good to know, I will make a note when I have finished the Jack Reacher series.  Another good read is Jack Coughlin's Gunny Swanson series. Coughlin is a retired Marine Sniper and has invented The Gunny Swanson character, who is a sniper with connections in high places. Best to start with Kill Zone Sniper 1.
