^^^ unless subsequent senior spooks/civil servants were economical with the files

Obviously I was kind of borrowing from Robert Armstrong there, who, Spycatcher aside, probably knows everything, and hopefully won't do a Saunders/Janner

The Thatcher files do exist, one was released before the election and only in the last 2 weeks have the cabinet office released details on the others that Cameron and Clegg were apparently desperate not to be released before the election. There is apparently a chamber of secrets type thing at the Cabinet office where all sensitive civil service files are stored i.e. too sensitive to hand over to the national archives.

Lord Janner is in court on the 7th of August. I still think it will probably be a trial of the facts in the end, unless the Police have evidence that disproves Janner's claims of ill health. Perhaps a successful case against Janner will embolden the Police to start making more arrests ? Who knows.
Otherwise I'd keep an eye on the Esther Baker case, it's alleged that a former Liberal Democrat MP amongst others took part in the abuse. There is a chance that Esther Baker's case might be the one that tips the balance.

I see the Ted Heath allegations have finally surfaced, well not all of them. Everyone else was right on the Heath story, it took the BBC an age to get on it. Wonder why ?

I thought the BBC were on this at the same time as the rest of the media. Unless you're talking about the years of internet rumour that always appeared a little tin foil and didn't stand up on their own.

My little private tin hat conspiracy list, well not so little, has been amazingly accurate thus far, with all things child raping within the establishment.

I take tapzilla2k and BBCs, somewhat underwhelming reporting, considering we are now talking about Prime Ministers. What did we get for the most part,  just one person with 14 jail year jail sentence, for fiddling rates, after all this time causing the global crash, what a load of gahoonies.

I remember reading stories/rumours in the Private eye in the 1970's suggesting some of what is now becoming news.

This does now appear to be yet another foil/tin hat conspiracy theory that is true.

Should we just wait at least a little longer before we make judgements about ex PMs.
There does seem to be some that revel in this and seem to be rubbing their hands with glee.

Many of the rumours at the time about Edward Heath were based on the fact that he was unmarried, hardly a crime in itself.

Maybe he is guilty maybe he's not but lets not judge yet

Or at least until after they are all dead.

Why? He has been dead for 10 years.  Rotherham has been portrayed as the scurge of multicultural Britain in cahoots with police and social services, to keep racial tensions calm.  When anyone knows who has been anywhere near children services it matters not one bit your ethnicity, your class or your position.

That was not a tin foil story, PE and the Rochdale Alternative Press did in fact expose Cyril Smith in 1979
Our Cyril Smith story came out in 1979. What followed was a 36-year cover-up | John Walker | Comment is free | The Guardian
Private Eye | Official Site - the UK's number one best-selling news and current affairs magazine, edited by Ian Hislop

The press always speculated that Ted Heath was gay, 'confirmed bachelor' usually code for gay. PE referred to him as Sailor Ted. He certainly could never have come out and also kept his career.

If he was a paedophile, Thatcher would certainly have known and likely tried to have kept him in line rather than tolerate his years of public bitterness - and there is no doubt that her govt/whips protected their nonce colleagues in return for their obedience.
