Fair points.  I do have reservations about Boris but he is very well known, and, like you say, has had some success in left London (guess there are som very right wing parts of London too).

No Tory is going to win over a great deal of Labour voters but thats just the way it is.

Me Mum and Dad voted Labour so i’m voting Labour.  Or, Thatcher was a Tory so to hell with them, still runs strong in parts.

Still, a controlled No deal Brexit and Boris Island back on the agenda if he wins...

It is interesting seeing all the other party politicos and left leaning journo's putting the boot in on Boris early on. Going to pick him.

Not that I like the idea. But then I don't have a vote.

Edit. The voting system will give an idea as it trundles along. Wonder who is polling their comrades. Did I hear one political hack say that one MP claimed was just saying yes to all the possibles?

I’ve gone with Boris purely for the comedy factor. He will be different that’s for sure. It worked for Drumpf so probably will work for Boris.

Perhaps we need a change. The Tories definitely do before they end up with no one ever voting for them again.

Well, I was right about Amber Rudd not getting very far - she has ruled herself out this morning. I think the next best option for me is Rory Stewart although his soft Brexit stance probably means he has no chance at winning the leadership.

In other news, I see that Labour have declared they will call an immediate no confidence vote in the new leader (whoever that is), once they are in post.

Oh Labour are a funny bunch. It should be a walk in the park, any more open goals and you'd think that the Conservatives are match fixing. Yet Labour just can't get it into the net.

Conservatives are absolutely terrible, yet Labour manages to be even worse...

I would have thought a no confidence vote was an obvious inevitability given Labour's position on a General Election.  I think it is unlikely to pass regardless of who becomes leader given DUP support and a reluctance from the likes of Change UK to support it.

A no confidence vote ahead of even knowing who they don't have confidence in is just silly and a waste of our time and money. It just demonstrates that they do not want to make any of this work and have no intention of playing along nicely with anyone else.

I'd no idea who Rory Stewart was until I saw him on Breakfast this morning. Crikey, what a scary, ugly looking guy. Sorry if that offends anyone here but we do live in modern times and image is just about as important as policy.
I'd vote for Esther McVey after hearing her on LBC yesterday. She looks great, young(ish), and says the right things (even if her voice is a little bit Mrs Merton).

I think entrenchment exists throughout; the HoC have been playing Brexit Chess for two years now and I can’t see any change, and probably made worse if the new PM is chasing no deal.
