A bucket like this is very handy as it's food grade plastic and has a tap to drain off the brine and rinsing water very easily into the bath or whatever.

I do like turkey as well and eat that throughout the year, but we stick to goose for xmas. Except last year when we had pheasant! I think goose has a different flavour and it's not to everyone's tastes.
Normally there are 12 of us eating together so we don't have any left overs, it is expensive though.
My dad deals with that part of the meal so I can't offer any advice unfortunately, I'll ask him if I get a chance though.

Mimosa Pudica is a touch sensitive plant that collapses its leaves as a defensive mechanism. You can get them in the Venus Flytrap section occasionally. I might have spelt the name wrong but I've had a few and past caring.

Turkey crown and a pork joint for the meat, the usual trimmings plus a couple of sprouts, the only time I eat them. There will be plenty of meat left over along with ham to have with chips and pickles on boxing day.

Sorry that'll be my fault. Had Buck's Fizz for years but one year one of my Christmas tips from a customer was a bottle of mimosa which confused us all until we googled it. So the name has just stuck in our house. And certainly won't be measure anything.

Turkey, ham, roast potatoes and mashed potatoes. Gravy carrots parsnips sprouts red cabbage and 2 types of stuffing. Also pigs in blankets and stuffing wrapped in bacon (sage and onion stuffing). Think we are having salmon and prawns for starter. Then Xmas pudding, truffle and Xmas cake and cheese for after

The best turkey  I had was in America!
They took it outside to fry it, and it was done pretty quickly. Unless they were telling porkies and they had one out there prepared already
After asking about I've been told I can get turkey already sliced from the supermarket, I might just get some of that and a bag of frozen potatoes, maybe a couple of sausages. I won't bother with veg.
