Incase you already havnt, find your nearest meat wholesaler.

I pay about £4.99 per kilo of fresh chicken which is way better than anything you ever find in tesco

I think i pay about £4 for 30 large eggs

and £5 for 1kg of fresh lean mince beef.

Makes one hell of a difference from what I was paying in tesco and local butchers etc

Sardines are Scusting. We have a guy who eats a can in the changing room before then going out to gym, stinking the whole place out. I don't understand how these people can't smell themselves.

Good find on the Tuna though!

Sounds like a good idea, but where to begin? Are wholesalers somewhere the butcher generally buys from? What sort of quantities would the general public need to commit to before they will give us the time of day?

Yeah im quite interested in places used by people. Looked at clare barry above but with postage it can be cheaper in my local supermarket. I go through a lot of white meat a week though so wouldn't mind finding somewhere reasonably priced with good quality meat.

What about farm shops also. Anyone use those?

The meat from Clare Barrry is massively higher in quality than suoermarket meat. The chicken breasts are huge!

Thanks Boozehound. I may give them a go if I dont find something more local to me. Just the cost of delivery is a little off putting for just me. I may do £30 of meat a week maybe a bit more, like to freeze as little as possible though keep it fresher.

Yeah, delivery is a bit annoying. Less if an issue for me as me and my flatmate order a months worth each and share the delivery. Definitely can vouch for the quality though. There's none of that water injection crap and the meat is different class.
