Yeah, to be honest its cheap everywhere. I was just trying to bulk my order up to make it worthwhile. And I hate Tescos with a passion

My wife is the same with offal Booze, but again loves pate. Personally I reckon calves liver with bacon and mash and a decent jus is one of the best meals you can eat out

Ok, to the chicken. Made a thai green curry for friends on Saturday and had a breast plain, grilled yesterday. have to say I'm really impressed. No water cooking out at all. The best thing is the taste and texture, really good flavour and it actually has a "grain" to the meat, like you would have with free range. Guess that comes from letting the bird get to a decent age and allowed a bit of roaming. Supermarket stuff just doesn't have that texture at all, unless you pay the extra for the free range.

Will be buying these again !

Excellent! I love their stuff and agree with what you've said - you really can taste the difference between it and even the better quality supermarket meat. Their ribeye steaks are quality too, just for info!

I also tried their ground turkey meat. No water during cooking and pretty much all white meat for a very reasonable price. Made up some grilled chilli turkey burgers with it and they were cracking.

It's fairly well known, but i've been eating a lot of quark recently. It's around £0.90 per 250g and is about 14g of protein and circa 70 calories per 100g. It is also very very filling, which makes it an ideal when you're on a calorie controlled diet.

Mixing on either some flavouring/protein powder/low calorie hot chocolate makes a nice dessert as well. You can also make a good cheese cake with it.

We use Quark quite a lot as its very low in fat.
Found out last week that our local Tesco have discontinued it though.

After my impending move I will be giving these guys a go see how the meat is. Got to be worth getting it for the better quality meat.

I noticed that Sainsburys are now selling the Tuna Fillets but for £1.30. I think I will have to go to Home Bargains again to see if they have any in stock again.

These guys occasionally also have some pretty good deals on meat. Worth a look anyway.

Had an interesting discussion with my decent, local butcher yesterday. Got 2 lovely pieces of sirloin - far better than the supermarket

But, started discussing price options on chicken breast with him and talked about buying in bulk. If I give him a few days notice he will do me 5kg at only £7 a kilo. Its a very good grade, no water and his bodybuilding son eats those as well. if you factor in the cost of delivery and possible inconvenience with postal delivery then these come out even cheaper. I'll just bag them up with cheap food bags and freeze in pairs

Worth having a chat with your local butcher I'd say ! And it does make you wonder how much he pays for them if he can sell them at that price
