Been using Tado for nearly a year. It's very good and pretty much set and forget. I feel their claims about how much you can save are a little optimistic but that's marketing. If you can wire a plug, you can install yourself. Install guide very good. Just remember to take lots of photos of existing wiring so you can go back if you do get a little lost. Geofence on mobile devices works well. If your using Alexa, you can also add the skill to control room temp with voice. This has been working really well but unusually flaky offer the last few days. Guess Amazon and or Tado updated and has caused an issue with the integration. Seems better now.

Had mine around a year now and really happy with it. Amazon echo integration works well for me. I have had none of the issues others seem to have had with echo. I made a group called house and put it in there. Now I just say "Alexa, set house temperature to 20 degrees" or whatever.

That's the only thing I'm a little annoyed at with Tado. They have been promising HomeKit support for months now and I'm still waiting. Paid the upgrade fee to replace the current bridge bit still no sign.

I've got the older bridge v2 as purchased in Feb '16. Was under the impression I'd need to pay the ~£40 to get it working with Echo. One evening thought I'd just give it ago. Much to my surprise and sheer delight, it worked. I can keep my £40! HomeKit for me so less relevant now Echo integration is working.

If you do get issues (only happened twice) between Echo and Tado, I found disable / enable resolves it. Both companies have updated the products in recent days so likely just a blip. Other than that I love it. Adjust temp, turn on/off hot water. Not used all that often as Tado's schedule and automation with geofencing works well enough not to need frequent adjustments.

I've installed it got the app running on both mine and the Mrs android devices. Seems simple enough I've set it to keep the temperature at 21 while we are awake. Need to let it do its thing for a few weeks so I believe. I think at that stage I may also consider buying the extension kit for my hot water.

I'm not sure about keeping location settings on constantly (battery draining) but will see how it goes.

One question I did have is I had one cable left over that wasn't on the online instructions. I believe it was the power cable for the old thermostat, can I use that to power the tado thermostat instead of using battery power?
