The sign an JOG is the only reason to visit although the nearby Duncansby head with the lighthouse and stacks are worth a visit.

Latheronwheel harbour is a lovely secluded spot where the local community built the small seated area and local walk. We stopped there last week.

Chanonry point at Rosemarkie on the Black Isle is worth a visit when the tide is rising for a chance to see dolphins. You can check the tides online.

Enjoyed the barbie, ready for a few beers I think.

I would second a stop off at Chanonry Point on the Black Isle to see the feeding dolphins. One of my most memorable times in Scotland. Watching dolphins from land and only a few meters away. They feed during the rising tide.

Followed the road along the north side of Loch Ness.

Unfortunately Urqurt Castle was full, but did the exhibition about the history of the monster sightings instead.

Then to the Caledonian Canal locks at Fort Augustus, something I wanted to see. Had a warm pasty from the butchers while watching boats pass through.

Then on to the scenic B roads along the south side of Ness.

Into the Cairngorms and found a resort hotel at Aviemore.

If I had known you were going on the south side of Loch Ness I would have recommended a shot on the corkscrew road.

Any Harley's left in Aviemore as it was the thunder in the glens festival at the weekend.

The funicular railway at the mountain resort is worth a trip for good photos assuming the weather is decent.
