It is the middle of June and look at the temperature! 12 degrees is more like February. The above is the weather graphic for today in Bristol where there might have been a game of cricket between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

I think there is a high chance that Australia v Pakistan tomorrow at Taunton will be a washout too as this poor spell of weather looks to persist until the weekend.

Its going to be tough if you dont make the semis becuase of poor weather. I wasnt happy about Pak v SL being rained out, as I think we could have won that. If tomorrow is rained off, then I guess we will be even, as I dont think we will beat Aus. So the net result is that we will have 2 pts from 2 matches.

I read today that we've been "unlucky" this year as in June 2018 there was 2 mm of rainfall throughout the whole month; so far we've had 100 mm in just one day!

Perhaps we were just lucky last year!

I said this in my initial post: it was always going to be a risk having this tournament in Britain in June, plus some of the fan turnouts have been less than impressive for various reasons.

Let's hope it all clears up for India vs Pakistan on Sunday, that should be absolutely packed!

AUSTRALIA WINS BY 41 RUNS

Have to give much credit to Pakistan, keeping up with the run-rate, useful partnerships, great knock from Riaz, just one of those great games where either side deserved to win. Mitchell Starc came back with two wickets and Maxwell threw down the stumps to run out Shaheen. A full game played where most feared there would be no game was a boost for all. Forecast for Nottingham tomorrow? Showers throughout the day and pretty cold at 13 degrees. New Zealand v India will be a top-of-the table clash if it goes ahead.

Another match Oz shouldn’t have won IMO. Pakistan’s overuse of the short ball during a big chunk of the Aussie innings was in a word stupid. Then there’s the comedic fielding and catching. Perhaps ditching Sarfaraz as captain would help. The only positive is that despite shipping over 300 runs they did well to make a match of it.

Losing wahab was critical, and once he had gone, it was always going to be Australia that would win. Pakistan arent brilliant at chasing, much better at setting a target. After the relatively bad start, I was surprised we got as close as we did.

Amir was excellent, the other bowlers were poor in comparison.

The comedic fielding and catching are ingrained in Pakistan cricket We are more surprised when a catch is taken or a fielder makes a diving stop near the boundary. Its something you have to accept being a Pakistan supporter.
