Thank you. Its advertised on auto trader and it had green tick by rac to say mileage is legit and no outstanding finance etc. When looking at scirocco the fast ones have done lots of mileage and 10 or 1 years old. I know this is diesal and slower but other side of the coin is the type r cost me £330 a year road tax while this is £30 a year and I got around 25mpg with type r while this should be around 50 but I will miss not having the power at round abouts.

Auto trader says the car is good prove and another website had it £200 under valued. I am thinking of taking it to volkswagen rather than pay the extra warrenty and have them service the car and check it out for peace of mind

Safe your money. Use a VW Specialist, they still have mechanics instead of people who know how to replace parts. Absolutely no benefit going to a main dealer.

I'd walk away, plenty of cars on the market, ask yourself why a desirable car has had no MOT for a year, I'd be asking why?  Putting down a deposit on a vehicle which you haven't driven.  Autotrader say the car is undervalued...  Again there is a reason for this, you just have to find out this reason.  Dealers are not in the habit of doing favours, they want as much as they can get.  I'd walk away, too many alarm bells.

I think you're going to find it a real disappointment after your Civic.  I'd urge you to get them to organise a test drive - a real drive not a nip around the block.
My Golf is 2lt turbo petrol with just shy of 200bhp - I can't imagine lugging the same amount of car around with 30% less power flat out.
If the car has been on the forecourt for at least 9 months - bear in mind that it may have been bought earlier than that - then I'm not surprised it's below list.  I'm curious as to why you've put a deposit on it though, it hasn't sold overnight in the last x months.
I hope it's not a turkey but if you can test drive with a mate who knows cars then I would - make sure you have a good poke around under the bonnet and look for perished rubber and leaks.  Ask them to stick it on the ramps so you can look at the underside too and look for anything out of order.  You may not know exactly what you're looking for but you might spot a problem.
When I bought my Golf the independent dealer was very happy to let me poke around the car, put it on the ramps and let me and a friend take it out on our own because he knew it was a good car - 5 years on he was right!
Good luck and don't fell compelled to go with it, if the dealer is legit they should be prepared to give you back your deposit if you're not happy.

I know it's silly putting deposit before test driving I just needed a car for work and seeing girlfriend who lives 30 miles away in letchworth.
I have been looking constantly for about a week and price seemed good especially as its low mileage and 6 years old. What swung it was all the positive reviews about the place

crystal motor reviews - Google Search
I saw a couple of negative reviews after I put deposit down and when I returned hire car yesterday the person said he bought a car from the place I'm going 8 years ago and when it developed a fault they took ages taking car back and never fixed the problem in the end his girlfriend's dad who is mechanic fixed the problem

Crystal Motor Company Review - Annoyed and disappointed

I'm not a boy racer never went over 90mph and hardly ever did that I just liked acceleration on roundabouts knowing I didn't have to wait ages for cars to get by and could over take without thinking can I make it as I don't want to cut people up or slow them down

When I purchased Honda type r I had ok it was on its last legs but I had transport so had time to look for a car but now with my car scrapped and hire car back I can't take as long looking for car that's why I maybe rushed into a decision while the reviews made me think go for it

He said he would buff the scratches etc put mot on it etc. My car 9 years old was scratch free but I appreciate some cars have marks I just admit my bumper had marks hitting pavement etc not realising it was that high but least it was only marked under or around bumper
Thank you for your help guys I appreciate it and I do worry at best times but even more so when spending 10k on a car sorry whittling on lol
