I did copy the save data before uninstalling NMS. But the save data is stored on the SteamVR drive which in my case is SSD. It went smooth and no problems so far.

I was using SteamVR Beta but that made NMS crash after 5 minutes. The normal Steam branch works perfect. I’m sure they’ve updated the normal version of NMS but the Beta branch removes all graphics options so you only have the one given setting which looks great much better than the first release.

I switched to SteamVR normal, NMS Beta and the M.2 drive pretty much at the same time and so far it’s worked out great.

I took a moment to look around my ship cockpit the other night and just behind my seat was a spinning fan behind a panel I’d never noticed before. I just thought wow what detail has gone into the game. The dash the seat the glass that covers the instrument panels are so detailed it’s really amazing.

Yeah the thing is, i was told that it rolled out to the development version yesterday afternoon so i am not exactly sure whether i had the new patch or not... however thanks for that and i will hopefully get a few mins for a butchers tonight, i will stick the beta on.

currently the game is on my slowest harddisk but i am having a real push to get rid of (ie complete)  old games on my system and then uninstall...... I am on the last level of BF4 campaign, once it is done i will uninstall and hopefully will be room to put NMS on my M2 drive.

btw am i right in saying the game also uses the steam cloud for saves?   or is it like say, sleeping dogs which only saves locally?

ok then so i guess i need to be very careful when i upgrade my rig. i have never gone back to sleeping dogs after getting 60% through and having a housekeeping format and reinstall!.

Hang on. Didn't you say a while back that you were returning it and going back to the Pimax?

Or am I losing what's left of my marbles?

Haven't had many performance issues with NMS so far. I've got Textures set to Ultra, Shadows on Enhanced and everything else on High and have turned off AA.

Haven't played during the last few days though so I've missed a couple of updates.

I have not reset my tracking in the rift for 6 months am gonna reset that and see if my issues are partly due to tracking rather than the game
Long shot as everything else is ok but I just tried to opt into beta and it said none available

You have to type 3xperimental in the Beta code bar to unlock it.
