I think culture and religion are being mixed up. And the example provide is an excellent example of that. I recall the panic merchants in the UK as well when we were having children. It had nothing to do with religion, but granted with misinformation. The funny thing is that many other countries has had those vaccines for much longer. I’ve had them myself.

And in some parts of the world, religion dominates, shapes and dictates the culture...

No, not mixing up culture and religion, merely proividing an example of being mislead into doing what a parent believes is the right thing and a good course of action yet it is actually seriously bad.
I tried to avoid jumping on the standard go to things like religious believers with holding medical attention, blood transfusions, organ transplants etc.

There are numerous ways in which people are misled into believing they are doing good and the right thing - but all generally have one thing in common, the belief that a particular source of information is true even though it has either no evidence to support it or even contradicts well established scientific understanding.

Religion is not only a prime source of such beliefs, unlike conspiracy theories and 'fads', religion has the added impact of demanding or being given respect and authority by most cultures. There is a general lack of credibility associated with 'conspiracy theories' - if you subscribe to none or only a few, the rest are by default treated with mockery.
Religion however is artificially treated with a level of respect and reverence which is inbeded in many cultures.

Where do they actively promote that in mainstream? Sounds like I’m learning something today.

Trollslayer Publish time 26-11-2019 00:28:16

If you go by the publicity from these group you don't get a realistic view of things. E.g. Catholic church and child abuse.

But we were talking about the promotion of killings. I’m not aware of any, but you suggest there is.And TB thinks it’s funny when I’m questioning it. I’m happy to be proven wrong, but I’m not aware there is.
